Through Continuum Movement, we explore how the bio-intelligence of our fluid system and tissues sets us free from conditioned body responses, broadening the sense of who we are.
Exploring primordial breaths, the resonance of sound and unfolding wave motions, we’ll deepen our experience and understanding of Continuum Movement:
~ where and how are wave motions unfolding?
~ how do we let our sensory awareness be the foundation of our connection to our body, developing a more holistic sense of self and our connectedness to our earthly environment?
This way, our practice will get closer to “an art form of dissolving constraint, welcoming the liberation of the entire person at every level”.
This workshop is specially designed for people interested in participating in the Continuum Movement Teacher Training Program which will start September 2018 in Greece.
Maria (Lhamo) Karakosta-Humpich MA, RSMET (Registered Somatic Movement Educator and Therapist), CMT (Continuum Movement®Teacher), is an innovator in the field of human consciousness, holistic therapies, somatic practices and change support. After a Master of Arts (MA )in French literature and studies in education sciences, she turned to dance and fitness training. For moret han 20 years, at the crossroads of Eastern and Western cultures, she has dedicated herself to somatic therapies, healing arts, trauma resolution (P.Levine), hypnosis, neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and therapeutic yoga. In 2006, meeting Emilie Conrad and discovering Continuum Movement opened totally new pathways forgiving support to people under stress conditions and/or facing changes in their personal or professional lives. She teaches holistic massage and conducts “sacred feminine” workshops. Lhamo is co-teaching assistant for Module 1 and Module 2 in the Continuum Movement Training Program (September 2018, Greece).
Caryn Heilman RSME, MA is an authorized Continuum Movement teacher mentored by Emilie Conrad for 20 years. She founded LiquidBody in 2000 after dancing for 10 years with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, to explore a Continuum-based dance approach. She accepted an MFA fellowship at the University of California, Irvine and arranged that her movement classes be with Emilie at her studio. She is a Registered Somatic Movement Educator through the International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association and Vice President of the Board. She is also on the SomaFest Advisory Board, has served on the Laban Notation Bureau Advisory Board and is a founding member of the Continuum Teacher Association. She teaches ongoing classes and workshops in person and virtually in New York, the Berkshires of NW, Massachusetts, Athens, Greece and globally. www.LiquidBody.org for more info.
